County Fire Marshal

The main objective of the Fire Marshal is to reduce the threat of life and property loss by actively enforcing federal, state and local codes to eliminate hazards. This is accomplished by conducting inspections of buildings and facilities within the community, providing public education programs, examining development site plans, and thoroughly investigating all suspicious/accidental fires and any unauthorized release of hazardous material products.

During the COVID-19 pandemic and in support of Governor Abbott's Executive Orders, the Fire Marshal is available to answer any questions regarding building occupancy.

Fire safety inspections provide the owner/occupant of the building an indication of fire/safety hazards so they may correct the hazards to reduce their liability and potential for loss due to a fire.
